Itinerary
Arrive Kathmandu. Met on arrival at Kathmandu airport and transfer to hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu
Drive to Pokhara. Upon arrival check in at your hotel. Later boat ride on lake Phewa. Overnight in Pokhara
Early morning sunrise tour of Sarangkot (subject to weather). Later half day sightseeing tour of Pohkara. Overnight in Pokhara
Transfer to Nayapul (1025m - approx 2 hours drive). On arrival you will be met by a local English speaking guide who will assist with the preparations for your trek and give you a full trek briefing. Your trek begins with a relatively easy walk to the village of Birethanti. Set at the foot of the Modi Khola valley this large village has many shops and tea houses, and is a popular stop for trekkers. Follow the trail to Bhurjung Khola, stopping en route for lunch. This afternoon begin the steep climb up the side of the valley towards Hile, a small town perched high on a ridge. Leaving Hile the trail becomes easier and it's a gentle climb to Tikhedhunga. Overnight in Tikhedhunga (1540m)
After an early breakfast follow the trail back down the side of the valley. Cross the Bhurudi River and begin the steep climb along a stone path to Ulleri. The village is perched high on the hillside and your hard work is rewarded with a magnificent close up view of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). Enjoy lunch at nearby Naya Thanti village before a steady climb through beautiful rhododendron forests to Ghorepani. This afternoon's walk follows a particularly scenic trail and the mountain views from Ghorepani are simply stunning! Overnight in Ghorepani (2750m)
This morning you have the option (weather permitting) of an early morning hike up Poon Hill (3200m) to enjoy the magnificent sunrise and a panoramic view of the Annapurna Range including Mt Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (Fishtail Mountain). This optional excursion is approx 2½ hours trekking. Most of today's walk from Ghorepani to Tadapani is on a relatively flat ridge top, passing through thick pine and rhododendron forests. Overnight in Tadapani (2600m)
Trek down the valley to Ghandruk, passing through small villages dotted along the hillside. Ghandruk is an important village, once a major recruitment centre for the famous Gurkha Soldiers. Today it is also the hub of the Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP). ACAP promotes many varied ecological projects and if time permits visit the ACAC headquarters and the Gurung Museum which displays traditional clothes and equipment used by the Gurung people. The last stage of the trek is an easy walk downhill to Phedi. Bid farewell to your porters and transfer back to Pokhara (approx 45 minutes drive). Upon arrival in Pokhara check in at your hotel. Overnight in Pokhara
Drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival check in at your hotel Overnight in Kathmandu
Transfer to Kathmandu airport in time to connect your flight for onward destination
